Scott’s experience in both Thai massage and Shiatsu combine to give him
extensive knowledge of the body, along with the awareness of its innate ability
to heal and restore function. Scott offers a unique massage style that blends
modalities, experience, and knowledge to assist the body in healing. The goal
for massage is to provide a space for healing and understanding your own
body, so that you may attain greater peace and ease in your day to day living.
Also Sands teaches you the tools through meditation and self care exercises
to be present and aware in all life’s situations. Sessions are performed on a
floor mat and/or table with the client dressed in comfortable loose clothing.
Traditional Thai Massage, which evolved from the ancient healing traditions of
Ayurveda and Thai Buddhism, leads to greater physical awareness and
spiritual energy. The practitioner uses hands, feet, arms, and legs to guide the recipient through a series of yoga postures that involve fluid movements,
gentle stretching, and breathwork. Performed on a floor mat in comfortable
clothes, this assisted yoga creates a therapeutic “dance,” incorporating
rhythmic motion, palming, and thumbing along energy lines to evoke
emotional calm and deep relaxation.
Our Thai Massage service is available in our Evanston studio or at your home.
Sports massage focuses on specific acute or chronic pain, targeting postural
deviations and/or specific injury the client is faced with. Each case will
accompany instant relief as well as giving very specific rehabilitative exercises that can be used as a means of continual support for short/or long term benefits. Continual sessions may be advised in conjunction with the exercises in order to assist the body’s complete healing and return to homeostasis. This modality is used for pre/post surgical rehabilitation as well. Many patients will perform physical therapy and then receive services in order to round out the complete return to life functions. Services are available in our Evanston studio or at your home.
