Scott Sandstrom’s Biography, NCTMB, CES
Scott received his B.A. in Kinesiology from Occidental College in Los Angeles. As a collegiate football player, he spent many hours in the gym and soon began designing the strength training programs for his college team. Looking to combine his personal training skills with greater understanding of the body.
Scott attended Boulder College of Massage Therapy in Boulder, CO. At BMCT, Scott completed a 1000 hour massage certification. Scott has practiced meditation in the Zen tradition for 11 years at the Chicago Zen Center in Evanston. He has studied Tai Chi for several years under the direction of Master Han. Scott has integrated this practice into his training, bringing exercise to a deep level of concentration and mindfulness. As a personal trainer, Scott emphasizes functional training and strives to train his clients to function at their optimal levels by increasing strength, coordination, and balance. At the same time, he incorporates mindful cues to draw the practitioner into deeper connection with themselves.
